About Me

About Me

My name is Bianca Beltrán and I am a broadcast journalist.

I grew up in Oxnard, California in a home across the street from strawberry fields. I studied Film and Media Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. My journalism experience includes print, radio and television news.

I began writing news in 2011 for UCSB’s weekly publication, The Bottom Line. In 2012, I reported on the Republican and Democratic National Conventions with KCSB-FM News. That Fall, I also produced and co-anchored a special live broadcast from the third-party presidential debate in Chicago.

At KPCC-FM, I worked closely with the Senior and Associate Producers as an intern.

My television news career began in 2014 at KPMR-TV Noticias Univision Costa Central, which serves the Spanish-speaking community of California’s Central Coast. I continued to report on the Monterey/Salinas area with KSBW Action News 8 from 2015 to 2018. I also anchored the weekend morning newscast from 7 to 9 am. Now I am reporting in Kansas City, Missouri at KMBC9 News.
